Product Review Nike React

by Arun Raj on August 05, 2020

The upper of the shoe is made of Flyknit which is essentially made up of high-strength fibers to create lightweight uppers with targeted areas of support, stretch and breathability. The upper of the Nike Epic React has a bootie construction with a tighter weave over the arch to help lock down the foot while the front of the foot uses a more open weave pattern for better ventilation. The laces tie through reinforced eyelets that connect directly to the arch wrap while the heel is reinforced with an external cup that wraps the rear foot for better lockdown.

The midsole is made of the React foam which is said to be softer while providing the athlete with more energy return. In fact, the Nike Epic React is 11% softer than the Nike LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2 yet 13% bouncier than the Lunarlon foam found in the LunarEpic. In addition, by leveraging the latest technology and data from their research, designers are able to determine exactly how much Nike React was needed and where making the shoe more than 5% lighter than the Nike LunarEpic Low Flyknit 2.

To reduce the weight of the shoe even further, traction is only placed where it is critical. Based on the data collected from countless tests and feedback from athletes, rubber sections were placed only on the toe and heel to help the athlete grip the ground and push off.
